Amendment of the Terms of Use

The Service Provider reserves the right to unilaterally amend these Terms of Use with prior notice to users. By continuing to use the service after the amendments enter into force, you accept the modified Terms of Use.

The Service means the service Database available at www.congress.hu, including all of its services and functions.

The service is provided by www.congress.hu, in connection with which you understand and accept the following:

You may independently initiate registration to the service at www.www.congress.hu. If you wish to register in the system, you must provide a valid email address, a username and password, as well as a telephone contact and other required data.

Following registration, you will receive notification at the email address you provided that your user data has been recorded and that you may begin using the system. You are responsible for keeping your user data confidential.

You must immediately notify the Service Provider at congress@congress.hu of any unauthorized use of your user data.

In the event of loss of your user data, you may request new login credentials exclusively from the email address used during registration via info@congress.hu.

www.congress.hu makes every effort to ensure that the customer portal service operates with adequate technical and content security and can be used efficiently; however, it accepts no liability for any damages arising from operation differing from expectations, modification, interruption of the service, or failure of notifications due to technical or communication-related reasons.

www.congress.hu reserves the right to amend these registration terms. The currently effective version is continuously available on the website. Accordingly, www.congress.hu excludes all liability and claims for damages arising from lack of knowledge or incomplete knowledge of the terms of use.

Our web system operates in a closed IT environment; users may access only data and information relating to them. www.congress.hu ensures the protection of personal data at a high level of security on a server installed on 01.01.2018, protected by 24-hour security monitoring and constant supervision, with encrypted data transmission (https).

Your legal capacity to enter into a contract is not restricted.

The Service Provider reserves the right to delete, without further notice, users who misuse any other person’s name, likeness, email address, or other personal information.

Upon obtaining actual knowledge of suspected misleading identification, the Service Provider is entitled to restrict user access until the verification process is completed.

Furthermore, you understand and consent that the Service Provider may collect all users’ data (email address, postal address, telephone contact), including yours, and use such data in the registration process.

The Service Provider reserves the right to refuse the service to any user.

User Conduct

You agree to behave responsibly and respectfully toward other users and members.

By accepting these terms, you agree not to use the service to harass, defame, slander, insult, violate human dignity or the constitutional principle of equality, or otherwise infringe the personal or other rights of other users.

The Service Provider reserves the right to delete or restrict users, or suspend functions, where such users or functions have been used to harass others through content displayed via the service or on any public platform or by any other means.

Content

The Service Provider is not responsible for transmitted information.

Unlawful or unauthorized activities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Modification, adaptation, or reverse engineering of any part of the service;

• Use of any automated application, search robot, page scraper, reverse engineering tool, or any other application through which the service or any part thereof may be accessed, modified, or indexed;

• Unauthorized access or attempted access (hacking) of the Service Provider’s IT systems;

• Collection of information about other members for unauthorized purposes (including usernames and/or email addresses);

• Reformatting or editing any part of the service websites;

• Publication of obtained materials;

• Creation of user identifiers by automated methods;

• Initiating or transmitting unsolicited electronic communications such as “spam,” or otherwise disrupting the service, including posting photographs on data sheets that infringe the rights of others;

• Making available any third party’s materials without their consent, including directly linking image URLs from their storage location, especially outside the Service Provider’s system;

• Providing materials that misleadingly create the impression that they are officially endorsed or approved by the Service Provider;

• Providing materials that infringe, misuse, or violate any intellectual property, publicity, privacy, or other proprietary rights of any other party;

• Publishing or transmitting viruses, worms, defects, Trojan horses, or any other destructive elements;

• Providing materials that are unlawful, encourage unlawful activity, or promote such activity;

• Providing false or misleading information.

The Service Provider reserves the right to send targeted advertisements, promotional emails, and advertisements placed at the end of messages to its users based on data provided during registration via the Service Provider’s messaging function.

Changing an email address or deleting a profile may only be requested from the email address provided during registration.

In the case of deceased persons, deletion of their profile may be requested by a close relative or official representative upon presentation of the necessary documentation.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service Provider assumes no responsibility for the authenticity, content, completeness, legality, reliability, operability, or availability of information or materials posted on the service.

You agree to use the service solely at your own risk and accept that the Service Provider shall not be liable for any pecuniary or non-pecuniary damages arising from use.

The Parties shall primarily attempt to settle any disputes arising from the Agreement amicably through negotiations. If no agreement is reached within 30 days from the commencement of negotiations, the disputed issues shall be resolved through legal proceedings.

The User is obliged to take all reasonable measures to protect their personal data, especially the password required to use the services provided by the Service Provider. The User is responsible for all events and activities carried out using their login credentials and password.

International Use

Due to the global nature of the Internet, you agree to comply with all local rules regarding online conduct and acceptable content.

You acknowledge that all personal data, information, and user-generated content are controlled, processed, and stored in Hungary, within the European Union.

All services, products, functions, materials, and information provided within or through the service framework are made available “as is,” without any warranties.
